KATHLEEN E GRANT

December 29, 1937 — June 6, 2009

Ms. Kathleen E. Grant, age 71 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday June 6, 2009 at St. Mary's Scott County Hospital in Oneida.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11am in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Wendell Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Ryan Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-9 at the funeral home.

She was born at Rock Creek, KY on December 29, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Nora Mae Stephens King. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Columbus Wayne Anderson, and a sister, Rosetta Anderson.

Survivors include 4 sons: Ed Grant and his wife Terrie of Independence, KY, Larry Grant and his wife Madge of Winfield, TN, Ronald Grant and his wife Thelma of Sparta, KY and David Grant of Winfield. 5 daughters: Beulah Faye Freyler of Cold Springs, KY, Sherrie Friedman of Crittenden, KY, Dena Thomas and her husband Eric of Morningview, KY, Lena Grant of Pine Knot and Regina Kannady of Crittenden, KY. Also surviving is her lifelong companion Orlando "Pete" Stephens. She has 5 brothers: Don King, Francis King, Linville King, Leo King and Cecil King, and 4 sisters: Evelene Stephens, Ethel Baird, Bonnie Meadows and Ann Anderson. There are 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren also surviving. There are 3 step children Paul Bryant, Georgia Carol Anderson and Bob Anderson.

Ms. Grant was a former seamstress for OVC company and a member of the Little Rock Creek United Baptist Church and was attending the Old Zion Baptist Church.

She enjoyed quilting, crochet, sewing, gardening and canning. She had a vast knowledge of trees and flowers and could always tell what they were and what function they served. She was a very family oriented woman with lots of children and grandchildren and was highly involved in their lives. She was a caregiver for many of her friends and family.

She was well loved by all her family and had an exceptional sense of humor and always had lots of jokes to share. She was 1 of eleven children with many neices and nephews who she loved dearly. She was a generous, kind and loving woman.
