Mrs. Kandi Kay Cordell, age 50, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at the Pine Knot Cemetery with private graveside services Wednesday morning at 10:00.
Kandi was Bookkeeper and an owner of D. H. Campbell, Inc., She was a member of the Whitley City Church of God and was a secretary of the Ladies Willing Workers organization. She was a long time volunteer for the Gils Scouts of America and a lifetime member of Weight Watchers.
Born on March 6, 1957, at Oneida, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Drexal (D.H.) and Joan Campbell and Georgia Crook Butler. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Cordell whom she married on August 31, 1976. She was the mother of Amity and Dustin Cordell, and the grandmother of Kemily West whose father is Brad West, all of Pine Knot. Other members of the family include a brother Larry (and Debbie) Campbell of Pine Knot, a deceased brother Harold Robert Campbell, mother-in-law Ruth Cordell (and the late William "Diehard"), sisters-in-law Lisa (and Eddie) Huddleston and Diane (and the late Maurice) Tribble.
