JOYCE ANN MURPHY

Joyce Ann Murphy, age 72, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, passed away at the Continue Care Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.

Joyce was a homemaker and member of the Meadows Grove Baptist Church.  She loved listening to gospel music, doing word puzzles, sewing, crocheting, painting gourds, gardening, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was born July 20, 1943, at Holly Hill, Kentucky, to the late Elmer and Bessie (Branham) Moore.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James William Murphy, a son Leland Wesley “Fuzz” Murphy, a brother Luther “Doc” Moore, and a sister Sharon K. Moore.

Surviving family include six children: Luther Murphy of Pine Knot, Wanda Murphy (and Torrence Sarver) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, James Edward Murphy (and Jodi King) of Pine Knot, Darla Phillips (and Stuart) of Stearns, Stephen Allen Murphy of Pine Knot, and Melissa Gail Murphy of Pine Knot.  She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. 

Surviving brothers and sisters are:  Walter Elmer Moore (and Renate) of Germany, Cecil Moore (and Stella) of Somerset, Janis Theaman of Indianapolis, and Melda Sue Babcock of Chicago, Illinois.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Terry West officiating.  Burial will be at the Pleasant Run Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services.
