JOYCE HAMLIN

Mrs. Joyce Hamlin, age 71, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at her home in Strunk with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Kidd officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Bethel Cemetery in Pine Knot. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born July 11, 1940, in McCreary County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lola Gibson King. Also preceding her in death is a brother Robert King and four sisters: Janiave Pauley, Genell Wattes, Jewell Crabtree, and Vella Dean Powell.

On October 15, 1960, Joyce was united in marriage to Howard Hamlin. Together they had three daughters: Milisa Ingoglia (and Eugene) of Florence, Kentucky, Rita Jones (and Joe Keith) of Williamsburg, and Jennifer Taylor (and Arthur) of Pine Knot. Joyce and Howard were blessed with eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Surviving brothers are Hollin King (and Edith) of Bethel, Ohio, Larry King (and Linda) of Missouri, and Edward King (and Jan) of Pine Knot. Sisters are Carol Stephens (and Charles) and Martha Douglas (and Doyle) both of Pine Knot.

Joyce had been a caregiver for the elderly, a seamstress in her younger years, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a mom to everyone.
