Joyce Duncan, age 75, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Baptist Health Center of Corbin, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Burke and Bro. Willis Troxell officiating. Burial will be at the Kingtown Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral Home.
Joyce was born on November 30, 1942, in West Virginia, to the late Cormal and Della (Johnson) Evans. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: Frank Evans and Johnny Evans and two sisters: Ginger Harp and Tina Hicks.
Surviving family include her husband Crawford Duncan whom she married on August 27, 1960, in Newport, Kentucky. Together they have four children: Crawford E. Duncan (and Rita) of Strunk, Deborah Marie Duncan of Stearns, Versie Alesia Duncan (and Curt) of Strunk and Gregory (and Amy) Duncan of Strunk. There is one surviving brother: Meridith Evans of Cincinnati, Ohio and one surviving sister, Etta Farley of Florida. Joyce and Crawford were blessed with nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Joyce had worked at Outdoor Venture Corporation as a supervisor for several years. She volunteered at the McCreary Christian Care Center and at the McCreary County Schools in the reading program. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts such as crocheting and sewing. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be sadly missed.
