Mrs. Joyce N. Cox, age 70, of Medina, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the Life Care Center of Medina.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, at Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Lance Lay officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hayes Creek Cemetery in Strunk, Kentucky. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cox was born November 7, 1936, in McCreary County, Kentucky, to the late Coy and Hazel Cornelius Baird. She was a homemaker, a child care service provider, and had been a member of the Hayes Creek Church of God. Preceding her in death is her parents Coy and Hazel Baird, three brothers Artle, Rolland, and Jackie Baird and two sisters Wilma Hinkle and Phyllis Baird. Surviving family include her husband Arvis Cox of Medina whom she married on March 15, 1958, a son Michael Wayne Cox of Brunswick, Ohio and two daughters Nancy Ellis of Brunswick and Cheryl Hammonds (and husband Dennis) of London, Kentucky. There are two surviving brothers J.B. Baird of Norwood, Ohio and Chuck Baird of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and two sisters Alma Neal of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Sheila Baird of Norwood. Joyce and Arvis were blessed with five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
