Mrs. Josie Pauline Jeffers, of Pine Knot, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007, at her home, having attained the age of some 88 years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home and Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time for services at the Church. Burial will be in the Meadows Cemetery.

She was born in Harlan, Kentucky on May 15, 1919, the daughter of the late William and Maude Cadell Osborne. She had been employed by the McCreary County Schools as a cook and a pre-school bus monitor. She also was a day care supervisor and had worked for General Electric in Chicago for 20 years. She was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God and had taught Sunday School at the Meadow Grove Baptist Church for a number of years. She was among the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, and was a devout democrat.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Jeffers whom she married on November 2, 1946, two brothers John and Floyd Osborne and three sisters Marie Poore, Dorothy Thomas and Launia Wilson.

She is survived by a daughter Susan Morrow, a brother Ira Dee (and Neva Lee) Osborne of Clintwood, Virginia, a sister Lenora Reece of Speedwell, Tennessee, sisters-in-law Oneida Osborne, Detroit, Michigan, Jean (and Ledford) Baird of Pine Knot, and Margie Jeffers of Hartford, Kentucky, and brothers-in-law Clifton (and Helen) Jeffers of Harlan and Clovis Jeffers of London.

Pauline was a full time grandmother to two grandchildren Anthony Morrow and Carri Johnson and great grandmother to Korey and Collin Johnson. She was a wonderful aunt to several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and a friend to many.
