John Luster Lay

John Luster Lay age 89 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed from this life on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Mount Washington Care Center in Cincinnati.

He was born on July 12, 1932 in Pine Knot, Kentucky. He was of 12 children born unto the late Thomas Jefferson Lay and Mandy Ellen (Stephens) Lay. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Surviving family include his wife, Pauline (Braden) Lay of Cincinnati; children, Sharon Cliff and husband, Dennis of Cincinnati, Sheila Phelps of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and David Lay and wife, Karen of South Gate, Kentucky; a brother, James Randal Lay of Rockytop, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

John attended the Town Street Church of God in Cincinnati. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and watching baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. John also loved music and could play many instruments by ear. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. James Lay officiaiting. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday after 11:00 am until service time. No graveside service will be held.
