James "Jamy" Murphy

James Dwayne Murphy born July 11,1984 to James “Jim” Murphy and Sylvia (Jones) Murphy and departed this life on August 2, 2021 at the age of 37.

Best known as Jamy, he was a loving father, a precious son, loving brother, and wonderful uncle. Jamy enjoyed spending time with those he loved, and often showed it through acts of service. He was a mechanic by trade. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors when given the opportunity, and took great pleasure in sharing the fruits of his gardening with others.

Jamy attended Whitley City Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his family worshiping Christ. He leaves behind his fiancé Chasity Owens, his daughter Emma Murphy, very special niece Danielle, his parents: Jim Murphy of Williamsburg KY and Sylvia Murphy (Wallace Simpson) of Monticello, KY, sisters: Natasha Strunk (Kevin) of Somerset, KY and Courtney Murphy of Georgia, along with his nieces and nephew who adored him, and many other family members and friends.Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Dixon and Shawn Brunett officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Run Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
