Mr. James A. King, age 77, of Sawyer, Kentucky, passed away at Monday, July 7, 2008, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Ridener officiating. Burial will be in the Tucker-King Cemetery in Sawyer. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. King was a carpenter and was retired from the Superior Coffee & Tea Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served his country for eight years in the United States Air Force.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maggie Neal King. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Frank King and three sisters, Margaret Myers, Rosie King and Sylvia Abrams.
Surviving family includes his companion Evelyn Stephens of Sawyer, three sons, Thomas King of Dalton, Georgia, Vincent King of Somerset, Kentucky, Frank King of Dalton, Georgia, and Matthew King of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, and three daughters, Linda King, Nashville, Tennessee, Vickie Loudermilk of Dalton, Georgia, and Teresa King of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Wiley King of Florida, Robert King of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dewey King of Florida, Beulah Corder of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jo Ann Bowman of Corbin, Kentucky. There are 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
