James L. "Jimmy" Jackson, Jr. age 38, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at his home in Pine Knot.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Run Church with Rev. Dennis Bryant and Rev. Tim Stephens officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Run Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born November 24, 1972, in Lucas County, Ohio, to James Leon and Rosalie E. Miller Jackson. He leaves behind his wife Kristy Kidd Jackson whom he married June 12, 1993. Jimmy and Kristy live in Pine Knot and have three children: Justin Tyler Jackson, Jessica Nicole Jackson and Karissa Brooke Jackson. Other family members include a sister Tammy (and Eric) Morrow, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rhonda and Alex Smith, nieces and nephews Taylor and Dillian Morrow, McKennon and Bailey Smith.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Junior Jackson, Mary Jackson and Irene Bowles, and maternal grandparents Jesse E. Miller and Dolores Zielinski Miller.

He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.

Jimmy was a member of the Pleasant Run Church, had been self employed as a carpenter and had previously worked for the Kentucky Baptist Home for Children. His love for children and sports gave opportunity for coaching Little League baseball and football, and assisted coaching the high school, middle school and elementary football and basketball. He played men's softball and basketball, he enjoyed traveling, coon hunting and liked being the grill chef for special occasions.
