IZETTA LAY

Mrs. Izetta Lay, age 67 of Bethel Road in Pine Knot, passed away on Friday June 17, 2011, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1pm Monday June 20, 2011 in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. William Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-9pm at the funeral home. And the family has requested contributions to assist with the purchase of graves spaces.

Izetta was born in Harlan, Kentucky on October 20, 1943 to the late Bethel and Clara Gibson Berry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother David Berry, and 3 sisters, Bobbie and Mary Berry as well as June Perry.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years Vernon Lay. The couple was married on April 20, 1964. There are 3 sons: Lonnie Lay and his wife Mindy of Pine Knot, Ronald Lay and his wife Yvonne of Eubank, KY, and Wayne Lay and his wife Tonya of Pine Knot. There is one daughter, Sue Sizemore and her husband Randy of Pine Knot. She has 3 brothers, Junior Berry of Indiana, Erstle Berry of Florence, KY, and Danny Berry of Lexington, KY. There are 4 sisters, Patsy Klug of Covington, KY, Janice Lay of Monticello, KY, Loretta Woods of Covington, KY and Dorothy Pendergrass. Izetta was blessed with 7 grandchildren; Amy, Sarah, Wendy, Jason, James, and Anthony Lay, and Jonathon King.

Izetta was a homemaker and a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
