Herbert Ruben McCulley

Herbert McCulley age 66 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Corbin, Kentucky.

He was born on June 13, 1954 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Lonus McCulley and May Evelyn (Stephens) Jackson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father whom he always called dad, James Durham, his brothers, Gary Blakely and Elmer "Peanut" McCulley, and his sisters, Retha Sexton "Sis" and Wanda McCulley.

Surviving family include his daughters, Treatta Gearing (and Thomas) of Pine Knot and Delisa Howard (and Eli) of Stearns; wife & mother of his children, Patricia McCulley; a special son, Daniel Taylor "Bubba" and family; a special sister, Sheila McCulley; and a special friend, Wanda Dick.

Also surviving are Herb's grandchildren that he loved so dearly, Shaina Jones, Christian Longmire, Christopher, Devan, Dedra, and Treyton Gearing, Nate and Lily Howard, and Kaylee Stephens; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kenley, and Kaylyn. 

Herb was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the McCreary County Board of Education after 30+ devoted years as a bus driver. He enjoyed flea marketing, yard sales, and playing cards. Herb also loved being on the go and traveling, especially to Pigeon Forge. He loved everyone, especially his family and his grandbabies. Herb will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Nate Howard and Rev. David Troxell. Burial to follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with the remaining burial expense.
