GWEN JOHNSON ESTES

Gwen Johnson Estes, age 53 years of Stearns, Kentucky died on Saturday December 8, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. A funeral service will be Sunday December 16, 2012 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday after 1:00pm until time for services at the funeral home.

Gwen was born on June 2, 1959 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Glen and Katherine Gollner Johnson. She worked in home health and as a waitress most all her life. Survivors include her sisters, Debbie Stanfill and her husband Vern and Melissa Erwin both of Pine Knot, as well as her brother, Richard Summers and his wife Tiffany of Pine Knot. Nieces and nephews include: Daniel Stanfill, Jennifer Stanfill Ross, Jessica Stanfill, Jeffrey Summers, Kolton Summers, Jadyn Privett, Darcy Phillips and Taylor Murphy. Great nieces and nephews are, Sydney Vanover, Justin Cash and Simon Hall. She also leaves behind her companion Wendell Dople and other numerous family members. Throughout her life, Gwen enjoyed time with her family, music, reading, movies, cooking and gardening. She also enjoyed her numerous pets including Tiger her 21 year old cat. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to assist with funeral expenses. Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family of Gwen Johnson Estes in her funeral arrangements.
