GEORGE JR. GRUNDY

George Jr. Grundy, age 70, of Revelo, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. 

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on June 19, 1944, the son of the late Earl and Goldie Mae (Stephens) Grundy.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph Grundy and Edd Grundy,  sister; Bonnie Troxell and a grandson; Josh Grundy.

Surviving family include his wife of 32 years; Portia (King) Grundy of Revelo whom he married March 27, 1983, a daughter; Sherry June Slavey of Stearns, three sons; Jerry Wade Grundy of Pine Knot, Terry Wendell (and Misty) Grundy of Revelo, and Larry Ricky (and Jamie) Grundy of Stearns, a brother; Roger Grundy of Indiana, four sisters; Shirley Slaven of Pine Knot, Barb Watson of Stearns, Judy Coffey of Tennessee, and Betty Wright of Whitley City.  He had 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a very special nephew, Eddie Grundy. 

Jr. had been a truck driver and member of the Revelo Church of God.  He enjoyed fishing and camping but his greatest passion was being with his family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home.  Burial will be at the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral Home.
