George Glenn Gaertner

George Glenn Gaertner, born on December 21, 1965, passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 60.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Adali) Mendoza, George (Cheryl) Gaertner, Maya (Kentton) Gaertner and his step-daughter Christine Robertson; his mother, Doris Gaertner; his brother, Curtis (Tonya) Gaertner; and his beloved cousins, nieces and, nephews. He was a devoted grandfather to Terra, Grace, Benjamin, Evelyn, Lilah, Gabriel, Ketton Ray, and Gemma. And a special father figure Jim Smith.

George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Surja Gaertner, his brother & sister in law, Garrett & Sandra Gaertner, and their daughter Sarah, and his father, Lawrence Gaertner.

A native of Chicago, IL, George was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was someone you could always count on, and cherished time spent with his grandchildren and being out on the river. He was an avid music lover and a drywaller by trade.

He will be deeply missed and his legacy will forever be remembered in our hearts.

In keeping with his wishes, George will be cremated. A Memorial service will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation after 12:00 noon until service time. George will be laid to rest in the Jellico Creek Cemetery.
