GENEDA IRENE STEPHENS

Geneda Irene Stephens, age 51, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the LaFollette Medical Center in LaFollette, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Muse and Bro. Johnny Perry officiating. Burial will be at the Hayes Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until funeral time.

Born August 27, 1961, in Jellico, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Walter McKinley and Janette Gertrude (Douglas) Stephens. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters Vicky Ann Stephens and Carol Dean Stephens, and a brother William Oliver Stephens and his wife Mary, also deceased.

Surviving family include a son Robbie Godsey of Somerset, two daughters Rebecca Jeffers (and Anthony) of Oneida and Jessica Jeffers (and Jimmy Lee) also of Oneida. She had three brothers; Thomas Gary (and Anna) Stephens, of Winfield, Charles (and Ruby) Stephens of Winfield and Walter McKinley, Jr. (and Tonya) Stephens of Winfield, and two sisters; Shirley Stephens (and companion David) of Beech Grove, Tennessee and Mary Hill (and David) of Winfield. Geneda had twelve grandchildren (including one deceased). Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including two special nieces; Janette and Pam. She had many friends whom she called frequently and constantly kept in touch with.
