GARY WILLIAM WARD

Mr. Gary William Ward, age 66, of  Cincinnati passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the Mercy Health Fairfield Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home.  Burial will be at the Silerville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gary was born September 27, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late William Emmitt Ward and Geneveive Verlene (Duncan) Ward Peak.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Gene Morgan, step-father Earl T. Peak, and grandparents Sherman and Sylvania (King) Duncan and John and Liza H. (Hilterbrand) Ward.

Surviving family include his companion of 27 years, Lillian Jane Murphy, step-children; Chris Murphy of Florida and Janie Bell of Ohio, a brother Larry E. Ward (and wife Shari) of Ohio, and sister Sandra Richardson of Strunk, Kentucky, grandchildren Shelby and Taylor Bell and many nieces and nephews.

Gary had worked in produce markets until becoming disabled at a young age.  He lived at the Triple Creek Retirement Center and attended both the Lutheran and Baptist Churches there.  He enjoyed movies and DVD’s, playing corn hole and bingo.  He was a collector of different things.  He loved the holidays and spending time with family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his dog.  He will be remembered as a fun loving jokester to those that knew and loved him.
