EVA MOORE

Mrs. Eva Moore, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, January 29, 2009, at the St. Mary's Select Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She had attained the age of 66 years and 22 days.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Carlie Duncan and Rev. Clay Cook officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery in Pine Knot. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eva was born in Pine Knot on January 7, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Myrtle Rowe Stephens. Also preceding her in death are a granddaughter Kelsey Moore, a brother Herman Stephens, two sisters Georgia Farmer and Reba Frances Stephens and an infant sister.

Family members include her husband of 44 years, Arnold Moore whom she married October 28, 1965. Arnold and Eva lived on the Straight Branch Road in Pine Knot and had four children: Sophia Marie (and Roger) Strunk, Gary Lee Moore, Larry Arnold Moore, Barry Dale (and Mary) Moore, all of Pine Knot and Johnny King also of Pine Knot whom she considered a son.

Surviving brothers are Donald, Richard and Ledford Stephens all of Pine Knot. Sisters are Edna Wright, Pine Knot, Noneda Barnett, Pine Knot, Marie Bradley, Sidney, Ohio, Kathlene Campbell, Pine Knot, and Irene Kidd, Pine Knot. She had two special friends Violet Stephens who was also her sister-in-law and Beverly Wilson. There are two surviving grandchildren Samson and Paul Strunk.

Eva was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. She loved going to church, visiting with people, spending time with her family and making gospel music tapes for those she cared for. She spent her extra time crocheting and talking on the phone.
