Obituary of Mrs. Emma Joan Canada
Mrs. Emma Joan Canada passed from her earthly life on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at her home on Hens Nest Road in Whitley City, with her family and friends nearby. She was 57 years old.
Funeral services were Saturday May 19, 2007 at 2pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Rufus Hughes, Rev. David Troxell and Rev. Mark Perry officiating. Burial was in the Higginbottham Cemetery.
She was born at Round Top on February 16, 1950 to the late Nelson and Alice Richardson Garland.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Canada of Whitley City, a son, Billy Joe Elmore and his wife Theresa of Whitley City, and 3 daughters, Melissa Strunk and her husband Roy and Lita Jo Strunk, both of Jamestown, Tennessee. And Carolyn Elmore of Cincinnati, Ohio. Emma has a step son, Guy Daniel Canada and a step daughter, Carla Sue Canada, both of Whitley City.
There are 4 brothers; Curt, Mike, Johnny and Don Garland, and 6 sisters; Peggy Douglas, Beverly Steel, Freda Strunk, Brenda Ball, Vonda King and Carol Jackson. There are 25 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Emma was a homemaker and served her Lord as a member of the Sand Hill United Baptist Church. Her struggles in life has now ended and a peaceful and eternal journey is set before her.
