EILEEN BROOKSIE BAIRD

Eileen Brooksie Baird, passed into eternal life on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at her home in Strunk, Kentucky.

She was born on July 22, 1940, in Pine Knot, Kentucky, to the late Jessie Earl and Madge Lee (Stephens) Kidd.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Lee Juraska and four brothers: Robert Kidd, Garry Robin Kidd, Denver Gene Kidd and Elves Dean Kidd.

Surviving family include her husband Fred Harold Baird whom she married October 12, 1957, their daughter, Leta Rai Davenport (husband Keith Alan) of Georgetown, Kentucky, and two grandsons: Jonathan Darryll and Michael Alan Davenport.

Eileen is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Lonnie Burton Kidd of Sloans Valley, Kentucky, Marcella Ryan of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Sue Carol Tribble of Ardmore, Alabama; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Baird was a school teacher who retired in 2003 from McCreary County School system. She taught for over thirty years in  two countries and five different states.

She was a member of the Pleasant Run Community Church, the Gideons, the Eastern Star, and she was an advisor for the Masonic Youth, Job's Daughters International and International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  She enjoyed oil painting, cake decorating and cooking.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. William Kilby and Bro. Dennis Bryant officiating.  Special music will be by the Pleasant Run Church Choir. 

She will be laid to rest at the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.  An Eastern Star service will be Friday at 8:00 p.m.

Contributions to the Gideons are suggested in lieu of flowers.  Gideons cards will be made available at the funeral home.
