Edna Wright

Edna Wright age 97 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Cumberland Nursing and Rehab Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born October 10, 1922 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to the late Floyd Stephens and Myrtle (Rowe) Stephens.

In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Arville Wright who passed in July of 1982; sons, George Wright and Lowell Walter Wright; 4 infant sons; brothers, Donald, Richard, Ledford, and Herman Stephens; and sisters, Georgie Farmer, Noneda Barnett, Marie Bradley, Kathleen Campbell, Eva Moore, and Reva Stephens.

Surviving family include her son, Nathan Wright (and Della) of Pine Knot, Kentucky; her daughter, Sheila Hill (and Bradley) of Strunk; a sister, Irene Kidd of Pine Knot; a daughter-in-law, Mooney Wright; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren.

Edna was a faithful member of the Marsh Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting; she had made each of her children a blanket. She also enjoyed gardening and canning, but most of all she enjoyed her family and caring for them.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Peters officiating. Burial to follow in the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
