Edna Murphy

Edna Murphy age 97 of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Signature Healthcare of McCreary.

She was born February 9, 1922 in Marsh Creek, Kentucky to the late William Riley Musgrove and Hattie (Jones) Musgrove. Edna was a member of the Silerville United Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. 
In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Brent Murphy, an infant daughter, Agnes Murphy, brothers, Eldred Musgrove, Mitchell Musgrove, and Clyde Musgrove, and sisters, Lena Blackstad and Reva Isadori.
 

Surviving family include her sons, Bruce A. Murphy (and Jerri) of Winfield, Tennessee and Gary L. Murphy (and Nettie) of Pine Knot, Kentucky; a daughter, Eydie D. West (and John) also of Pine Knot; brothers, Claude Musgrove (and Christine) of Texas and Riley Musgrove, Jr., (and Jill) of Florida; sisters, Betty Davis (and George) of Clearwater, Florida and Alice May of Indiana; and a special cousin, Brenda Pugh. 
 

Edna is also survived by her grandchildren, Ed Stephens, Megan Jones, Dustin West, Jackie Sexton, Jessica Clark, Allen Braden, Tony Murphy, and great-grandchildren, Ryder Sexton, Josie Sexton, Ben Sexton, Blake Clark, Jack Blevins, Charlie Blevins, Brock Blevins, Zane Jones, Evan Stephens, and Riley Stephens. 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Lenville Maxwell and Bro. Edwin Musgrove III officiating. Burial to follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 5:00 pm. Eastern Star service will begin at 6:30 pm. 

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
