DWIGHT RAMSEY

Mr. Dwight Ramsey, age 83, of Pine Knot, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at his home in the Bethel Community.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Ridener officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until funeral time at 2:00.

Born June 6, 1927, in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of the late John Calvin and Dorsey Ramsey. His family include his caretaker and companion Dora West of Pine Knot, daughters Vickie Ramsey of Louisville, Vanessa Wisencaler and Pamela Combs of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Sherri Merriwether of Lanesville, Indiana, Sammie Ann Jorgensen of Marsh Creek, Kentucky, and Tammy Renee Littrell of Whitley City. Sons are Hank Ramsey of Georgetown, Indiana, Dwight A. Ramsey of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Ti West of Strunk, and Barry West of Whitley City.

His brothers are Toddy, Jessie, Earl, Huey and Delmus Ramsey, sisters, Maggie Smith, Georgia Ramsey and Mert Ramsey.

Mr. Ramsey had been a bus driver for Greyhound and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
