Doris Perry

Doris Perry, age 80, widow of James Perry, passed away on May 30, 2022 at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

She was born on July 22, 1941 in Pine Knot, KY to the late Noah Stephens and Artie (Lay) Stephens. Doris was a member of Log Cabin, Church of the Living God, she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, cooking, and quilting.  Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was the first person employed by the McCreary Health and Rehab where she worked in housekeeping and laundry.

In addition to her parents, Doris is also preceded in death by her husband, James, brothers, Noah Stephens Jr., James Calvin Stephens, Dennis Stephens, Claude Stephens and Clyde “Abe” Stephens; sisters, Orangalee Spradlin, Blanche Stephens, Beulah Wright, Betty Jo Stephens, Mary Egnor, and Rosella Murphy.

She is survived by her sons, JC and wife Debra Perry of Whitley City and Russell and wife Kathy of Berea, KY; two sisters, Lois Reeves and Molly Thompson of Pine Knot; grandchildren, Mariah Perry, Bryson and wife Andrea King, Jordan and husband Edmund Furphy, Brandon and wife Kate Perry and Mackenzie Perry; along with 5 great grandchildren and three wonderful caretakes, Milicia, Lisa and Amber.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Barren Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the fuenral home.
