DONALD STEPHENS

Mr. Donald Stephens, age 70, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, at his home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

He was born in Pine Knot on August 7, 1945, to the late Roy Lewis and Pearl (Perkins) Stephens. 

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Bobby Ray Stephens and Lee Stephens, two sisters: Nancy Maxwell and Cynthia Stephens and a great granddaughter Addison Privett.

Surviving family include his wife Sylvia (Rowe) Stephens, a son Timothy (and Samantha) Stephens of Pine Knot, a daughter, Reci Stephens (and Scott Shook) of Pine Knot, three brothers: Bill Stephens of Somerset, Kentucky, Roger Stephens of Pine Knot and Jimmy Stephens of Stearns, three sisters: Cathreen Stephens of Pine Knot, Helen Gilreath of Glasgow, Kentucky, Linda Stephens Lavender of Whitley City, four grandchildren: Lily Marie Stephens, Tyler Glenn Bates, Tiffany Taylor and Jeremy Taylor, and three great grandchildren: Dylan Foltz, Jack Parriman and Reagan Johnson.

Mr. Stephens was a coal miner having worked for Shamrock Coal Company.  He was a United States Army Veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing and car shows.

In accordance with his wishes, the family chose cremation.

A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
