DESTER SMIDDY

Dester Smiddy, age 53, of Pine Knot, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010 in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Cook and Bro. Charles Smiddy officiating. Special music will be provided by the Neal Family, Margie Smiddy and Stanley and Sue Taylor. Burial will be at the T. Chitwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 a€" 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born May 2, 1957, in Pine Knot, he was the son of the late Homer and Irene Partin Smiddy. Surviving family include two brothers Homer Gene (and Janie) Smiddy of Middlesboro, Allen (and Tammy) Smiddy of Pine Knot, two sisters Carol Smiddy of Pine Knot, and Debbie (and Allen) Smiddy of Pine Knot and his companion Joan Moses.

Dester had been a carpenter for Stephens Log Home Builders. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and working on cars.
