Dessie Irene Strunk

Dessie Irene Strunk of Amelia, OH went to see the Lord, her husband, son and other loved ones Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009. She departed this life at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 18, 2009 at Pine Knot Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Kingtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9am Saturday until service time at 11 at the funeral home.

Born in McCreary County, KY on January 25, 1928 to the late Jeff and Flo Duncan, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Albert Strunk, a son: Jack, grandson: David Fore, great-grandson: Clayton, son-in-law: Richard Fore, brothers: Sherman Duncan, Kenneth Duncan and Robert Ale (Bus) Duncan, three infant brothers and one infant sister.

Irene gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and became a member of Second Otter Creek United Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and was a joy to all who knew her. She is survived by her children; son: Jimmy Strunk and his wife Sue; two daughters: Rena Howes and husband Dave and Deborah Fore; daughter-in-law: Bethany Strunk. 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Clara Creekmore of Huntsville, TN, Ruth Stephens, Flo Stephens, Opalene Stephens and husband Carthell, Alene Strunk and husband Elmon; one brother: Flenor Duncan and wife Evelyn, all of Winfield; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
