DESSIE COOPER

Ms. Dessie Cooper, age 80, of Pine Knot passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Kidd Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at 1:00 p.m.

Dessie was a homemaker and member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard sales, being outdoors and sitting in her chair on the porch. She loved being with her family and grandchildren.

Born October 10, 1932, in Pine Knot, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Euna (Jones) Caddell. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons Marion and Tony Cooper, two brothers Aaron and J.E. Caddell, and two sisters Nola Robinson and Ruby Cooper and two grandchildren.

Surviving family include her husband Marion Buddy Cooper whom she's been with for 60 years, three sons Ralph Cooper (and Margie) of Frankfort, Bobby Cooper, Pine Knot, and Earl Lester Cooper of Hendersonville, North Carolina, four daughters; Ora Mae Gray (and Marcum) of Corbin, Lillie Anderson (and Jim) of Corbin, Mary Neal (and Eddie) of Pine Knot, and Carol Jones (and George) of Whitley City. She has one sister Mary Lou Duncan of Muncie, Indiana, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and friends who will dearly miss her.
