Dessel Ola Foster

Dessel Ola (Coffey) Foster age 92 of the Wolf Ridge Community in Stearns, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her home. 

She was born April 30, 1930 in the Wolf Creek Community of McCreray County to the late John H. "Johnny" Coffey and Rebecca F. Coffey. 

In addition to her parents, Dessel is preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Foster whom she married September 17, 1951 and her first husband, Johnny Maxwell whom died shortly after they were married, a grandson, Jason Foster, daughter-in-law, Linda Foster, a sister, Myrtle New, and a brother, Frank Coffey. 

Surviving family include her sons, Ardell Foster (and Carolyn) of Stearns, and Gary Foster of Anna, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Michelle Toulouse (and Troy), Christopher Foster (and Susan) and Michael Foster; 5 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kalee, Kenzie, Cody, and Brittany Foster; and 7 great-great-grandchildren, Raegan and Preston Foster, Ryland and Knox Hatfield, Rynlee Gilreath, Teagan Oda, and Bentley Smith.

Dessel had been a cook for the McCreary Central High School. She was a longtime member of the Mt. View Baptist Church. Dessel loved going to church. At home, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, quiliting, reading her bible and fishing. 

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Foster officiating. Burial is to follow in the Sammy New Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
