Delbert Mathews

Delbert Mathews, age 92, passed away Thursday October 1, 2015 at the Beach Tree Manor, in Jellico Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Monday October 5, 2015 in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home at 11:00am with Bro. Dan Ridener officiating then burial to follow in the Corder Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00am until funeral time.

Delbert was born on September 22, 1923 to the late Elijah and Rosie (Phillips) Mathews. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his two brothers Brady and Oscar Mathews; five nephews Tommy Ray, Harold Lloyd, Donnie, Coy, and Leo Matthews; two nieces Betty Lucille and Connie Sue Mathews.

Delbert is survived by his nieces Juanita Stephens, Lucy Catrone, Carolyn Matheny, Thelma Jenkin, and Ella May Mathews.

Delbert attended Rock Springs Church with his family. Delbert enjoyed things in life such as watching television, drinking soda pop of any kind, and most of all visits from family and friends.
