DARRY RAY COX

Darry Ray Cox, age 48, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away at the St. Mary's Scott County Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest at the King Meadows Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Darry was born in Whitley City, Kentucky, on April 22, 1962, the son of Henry C. and Wilma King Cox. Preceding him in death is his father, Henry C. Cox and a brother Gary Wayne Cox. Surviving family include his mother Wilma King Cox of Pine Knot, two daughters Erica Creekmore of Pine Knot and April Cox of Atlanta, Georgia, three brothers Jerry Cox , of Pine Knot, Barry (and wife Terri) Cox, Pine Knot and Larry (and wife Carma) Cox of Atlanta, Georgia. Darry was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren Noah and Samantha Creekmore, and nieces and nephews that he loved.

Darry had been a truck driver before becoming disabled. He was a member of the South Pine Knot Church of God and attended the Davis Hill Church of God. He enjoyed ginsinging, camping, fishing and racing. He will be sadly missed by all.
