Darren Wayne Kidd age 35 years, 5 months, and 4 days of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Whitley City, Kentucky.

He was born November 8, 1982 in Somerset, Kentucky to William Steve Gibson and Patsy (Kidd) Gibson. Preceding him in death is his grandfather, Darrell Kidd, and great-grandparents, Sherman and Rose Ethel Richmond.

Surviving family include his mother, Patsy Gibson (and Barry Troxell); his father, William Steve Gibson; his sons, Lazarus and Chazdin Kidd; a sister, Kisha Gibson (and Cain Jones); a special nephew, Landon Jones; grandmother, Marilyn Irene Stephens; the mother of his children, Ada Mcclure; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Darren enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, and watching tv. He was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with those most dear to him. Darren was very proud of being a father and an uncle.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Braxton King officiating. Burial was at the Bethel Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday after 6:00 until 9:00 pm. at the funeral home.
