Darrell Junior Hollon

Darrell Junior Hollon, age 61 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday, September 20, 2019 at his home.

Darrell was of the Christian faith, he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandbabies.  He had a very special relationship with all of the Grundy family, especially his mother-in-law, Phyllis and brother-in-law, Eddie. Darrell loved them all as his own.   He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding 4-wheelers. He was a long-distance truck driver who never met a stranger, he loved to laugh and have a good time. 

Preceding him in death are his parents; Ray Raymond Hollon and Janie (Trent) Hollon, an infant brother, Ray Hollon and brother, Paul Banks, sisters; Faye Stevenson, Linda Phipps and infant sister; Edith Jean Hollon, and his father-in-law; Ed Grundy.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Grundy Hollon whom he married, December 12, 1982; sons, Darrell Edward Hollon and companion Tanna Justus of Revelo, Kentucky, Christopher James and Kimberly Hollon also of Revelo; a special nephew whom he loved as a son, Robert Banks; and grandchildren that Darrell loved dearly, Cristin, Koda Bear, Colton, Kori, Ed, Dannielle, Drew, and Trei.  

Also surviving are his brothers, Jack Hollon of Wolfe County, Kentucky; sisters, Juanita Rattliff of Wolfe County, Kentucky, Phyllis Hollon of Campton, Kentucky, Polly Barnes of Jackson, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Gilbert of Campton, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Yondel Phipps of Morgan County; a special uncle, David Lee Storie; a host of very special nieces and nephews and extended family; and many special friends, who know who they are, that each had a special place in Darrell's heart.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Braxton King and Bro. David Burton officiating. Burial to follow in the Grundy Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
