DARLENE BALL

Mrs. Dorthy Darlene Ball, of Pine Knot, wife of Hobart Ball passed away on Thursday March 22, 2012 at McCreary Health and Rehab Center in Pine Knot. Mrs. Ball had attained the age of some 94 years, 6 months and 14 days.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday March 24, 2012 at 1pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-9pm at the funeral home.

Darlene was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on September 8, 1917, daughter of the late Arthur and Sarah Moses Roundtree.

She is survived by her husband Hobert Ball and one son, Bobby Hamlin of Pine Knot. 2 great grandsons, Michael and Jamie Todd Hamlin and 3 great great grandchildren.

Brothers, Edward Smiddy, Pine Knot, Elmer Roundtree of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Bill and Kenneth Roundtree of Oklahoma. Sisters, Lois Stephens of Pine Knot, Loretta and Charlene of Oklahoma. There is a host of neices and nephews.

Brother in laws Donald and Lelan Ray and Leon and Clem Ball. Clem has been in the home for many years and was dearly loved by her. Sister in law Mary Helen Ponders.

There is a deceased grandson Randy Hamlin. Brothers deceased are Homer and Garret and Homer Smiddy.

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mrs. Darlene Ball in her funeral arrangements.
