Mr. Curby Cisco, known as Carbide, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007, at his home in Whitley City, Kentucky. He was 62 years old.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Ryan and Bro. Dillard Bryant officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Barren Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 a" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Curby had been a coal miner having worked for Island Creek Coal Company and F & W Coal Company in West Virginia and in the shipping and receiving department for a company in Detroit, Michigan. His hobby was raising and working with chickens with which he has received several trophys.
Born on December 22, 1944, in O'Keeffe, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Leonard and Ida Jane Mayhon Cisco. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Clellis Cisco, a half brother Clyde Cisco, two sisters Ada Ann Kinder, Victoria Varney and a half sister Ruby McGuire.
Surviving family include his wife Deloris Bryant Cisco of Whitley City, a daughter Michelle (and Robert) Walstrom of Whitley City, a step son and daughter Dale Bryant and Lori Salla of Williamsport Indians. Surviving brothers and sisters are Cedric Cisco of Saxe, Virginia, Charles Cisco of Williamson, West Virginia, Clinton and Carlton Cisco both of Meador, West Virginia, Orphia Carry of Hamlin, West Virginia and Inez Evans and Margie Simpkins both of Williamson, West Virginia.
His grandchildren are Keith and Cheyenne (Sunshine) Walstrom, and step grandchildren Britanny and Mary Beth Salla
Curby was a loving husband and dad, a great papaw to his main buddy Keith and his little Sunshine. He had many, many wonderful friends, too many to even mention.
