Crawford Ale Duncan, age 75, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Kingtown Cemetery.
Crawford was born November 22, 1942, on Kingtown Road in McCreary County, to the late Ale and Versie (Spradlin) Duncan. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Evans Duncan, three brothers: Ronald Duncan, Lenville Duncan and Casper Duncan, a sister: Shirley Duncan, a brother-in-law, Claude Taylor, a sister-in-law, Betty Duncan, and nieces and nephews, Troy Duncan, Darren Duncan, Ivan Neal, Stanley Jewell, and baby Jamie.
Surviving family include three sons: Crawford E. Duncan (and Rita) of Strunk, Gregory Duncan (wife Amy) of Strunk and Jody Burchfield (wife Brooke) of Oneida two daughters: Deborah Marie Duncan of Stearns, and Versie Alesia Duncan (and Curt) of Strunk, and Judy Jones who was like a daughter and sister to the family. There are two brothers: Luther Duncan of Strunk, and A.Y. Duncan (wife Marilyn) of Strunk, and three sisters: Opal Duncan Taylor of Strunk, Barbara Duncan Barnett (husband Kelly) of Ohio and Bonnie Duncan Stephens (husband Morris) of Winfield, Tennessee. There are 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Crawford had been a factory worker having worked at Leer Siegler in Somerset until they closed and then at Hartco Flooring in Oneida. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church. He enjoyed working and being outdoors , always doing something. Mostly, he loved being with his family who loved him dearly and will truly miss him.
