Cordelia Massengale age 89 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Hospice of Hope in Butler, Kentucky.
She was born in Scott County, Tennessee on May 13, 1934 to the late Travis Watson and Belle Roysdon.
In addition to her parents, Cordelia is preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Massengale; sons, Kenneth Massengale, Arnold Massengale, and Bobby Massengale; a daughter, Betty Pierce; brothers, Leland Watson and Delmas Watson; and a sister, Cleora Blevins.
Surviving family include her sons, Tyson Massengale (and Ella) of Pine Knot and David Massengale (and Katrina) of Chatsworth, Georgia; daughters, Judy Coffey (and Bobby) of Pine Knot, Deletta Simpson (and Danny) of Falmouth, Kentucky; and Brenda Murphy of Stearns; sisters, Nancy Privett of Revelo, Ester Perry of Alexandria, Kentucky; and Veda Blevins of Texas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Cordelia was a member of the East Apple Tree United Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales and caring for her family. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Hatfield officiating. Burial to follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday after 6:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
