Clifford S. Crabtree, age 72 years, one month and 20 days, received his healing and entered into eternal rest on April 6, 2014.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 8:00 in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Whitehead and Bro. Nathan Perry. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until time for services. Burial will be at the Jones Cemetery on Thursday morning at 11:00. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jackie Edward (Coop) Miller, Carl Brock, Jeff Crabtree, Thomas Greene, Jack Crabtree, Jr., Balford Crabtree. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dillard Perry, Nathan Perry, Jr., Zachary Jones, Dillon Perry, Brandon Perry, Michael Huffman, and Brian Redmond.
He was born on February 17, 1942, to Rev. Luther Crabtree and Nellie Marie Strunk Crabtree. He attended Pine Knot High School and worked as a Journeyman machinist in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of the McMakin Lodge 120 F & AM in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. He was ordained as a minister on May 11, 2003. He was the beloved pastor at Roberts Chapel Church in Whitley City, Kentucky.
Brother Cliff married his wife, Linda Katherine Neal on March 19, 1985. Together they worked faithfully in the ministry until his passing.
His father and mother precede him in death as well as five brothers; Herbert Crabtree, Cecil Crabtree, Albert Crabtree, James A. Crabtree and Milford Dean Crabtree, and four sisters; Villette Ruth Daneker, Delores Crabtree, Doris Ann Wright and Nancy Sue Crabtree.
Remaining to mourn his passing are two brothers; Jack (and Buffy) Crabtree, Columbia, South Carolina, and Balford (and Brenda) Crabtree, Rising Sun, Indiana, and four sisters; Ema Teegarden Cincinnati, Ohio, Devonda Luncinda Miller, Knoxville, Tennessee, Linda (and Doyle) Welch, Lafollette, Tennessee, and Janie (and Robert) Ayers, Mt. Hope, West Virginia. Also two sisters-in-law; Erna Crabtree, Royal Oak, Michigan, and Margie Ruth Crabtree, Virginia.
He is survived also by his children; Clifford Crabtree, Jr., Elgin, South Carolina, Goldie Crabtree Black, Florida, Lisa Crabtree Pawlowski, Cincinnati, Ohio, Lana Crabtree Borchers, Lexington, South Carolina, Deanna Crabtree Newman, Florida and David Crabtree, Knoxville, Tennessee. There are 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Also he is survived by four aunts; Jimmie (and Ralph) Stanley, Coeburn, Virginia, Erline Sullivan, Canton, Michigan, Rena (and Freddie) Archuleta, Alta Loma, California, and Norma Crabtree, Whitley City, Kentucky, and an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of very dear friends.
He loved his little congregation with all his heart and in turn was loved by them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
