Mrs. Charmillia Faye Smith Baker, age 78, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006, at the McCreary Health and Rehab Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the Pine Knot Cemetery with Rev. William Kilby officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Anthony smith, Tim Smith, Eric Smith, Derrick Smith, Dale Smith and William M. Chaney II.
Mrs. Baker was born January 2, 1928, to the late Inman Odell and Maggie Elizabeth Hamilton Smith. She worked as a waitress for 47 years for La Normandie Restaurant in Cincinnati where she received the national title of "Waitress of the Year". She was a member of the Restaurant Association and of the Baptist faith. Her favorite pastimes were traveling, reading and playing bingo.
Besides her parents, preceding her in death is her husband Edward Baker, three sisters; Mae Marie Smith Chaney, whose family lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mary Lou Smith, Beulah Smith; a brother Johnny Odell Smith whose family lives in Middleport, Ohio, and an infant brother.
Surviving family include five brothers Clarence E. Smith, Charles Robert "Bob" Smith, Jimmy A. Smith and Ronald Dean Smith, William L. Smith all of Pine Knot, and three sisters; Betty Jo Smith Clouse, Shelby J. Smith Ostendorf of Pine Knot, and Shirley Faye Smith Winchester of Batavia, Ohio.
Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
