THOMAS Jr, Charles E., 76, of Goggin Lane, died June 27. Born Oct. 23, 1938, in Pine Knot KY, he was the youngest of 9 children and the son of the late Charles E Thomas Sr and Mattie Hill Thomas of Pine Knot, KY. A husband to his late wife, Elizabeth Ann Thomas, that he was married to for nearly 50 years. He was the founder and original owner of Central KY Engineers, a civil engineering/land surveying company located in Danville, KY. After selling the company in the mid 1980’s, he went to work for the Urban County Government in Lexington, KY and eventually retired from there in the mid 2000’s. Survivors include a son, Terry Thomas of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Melissa Thomas of Nevada City, CA, and Allyson Thomas of Danville; three surviving sisters Marjorie, Glenna and Ruth of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. There will be Visitation on Friday July 3rd from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by a Memorial service at 1 pm at Stith Funeral Home.
For family and friends in the McCreary Co area there will be a Memorial Service held at Noon on Saturday July 4th at Marsh Creek at the bridge, at Bethel.
