CHARLENE DAVIS

Charlene Davis, age 69, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at her home in the Smithtown community of McCreary County.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. David Ball officiating. Burial will be at the McCreary Memorial Gardens in Whitley City. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until funeral service time.

Charlene was a homemaker and member of the Whitley City Church of Christ. She loved her family dearly and cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren.

She was born in Worley, Kentucky on June 15, 1942, to the late Elbert and Mary Hill Wilson. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers Ray, Ronald and Danny Wilson and two sisters Arlene Perry and Molly Phillips.

Surviving family include a son Danny (and Amy) Davis of Somerville, South Carolina, five daughters; Rose (and Larry) Jones of Whitley City, Melba (and Robert) Vanover of Smithtown, Pamela Davis of Marshes Siding, Christal (and Brian) Tapley of Newcastle, Indiana, and Nancy Davis of Smithtown. There is one surviving sister, Phyllis Wilson of Smithtown. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
