CEVIL MORGAN

Mrs. Cevil Morgan of Oscar Morgan Road, Strunk, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the McCreary County Health and Rehab in Pine Knot, Kentucky. She was 97 years, 8 months, and 10 days of age. She was born on March 27, 1915 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Ben Cornelius and Mae Goodin Cornelius. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Oscar Morgan; a grandson, Timothy Smith; a granddaughter, Sara Amelia Morgan; a great granddaughter, Kylie Strunk; a daughter-in-law, Toni Morgan; six sisters, Evelyn, Opal, Myrtle, Dessel, Hazel and Thelma; and four brothers, Hubert, Hobert, Herman and Lanceford. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Rev. Oscar Morgan on July 9, 1934 and from this union was born six children.

She was a member of Church of God. She enjoyed her church, becoming a Christian at an early age. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, working in her flower garden and watching her grandchildren grow up. Her love for her family was second only to her love for God.

She is survived by her six children, Larry Morgan of Stearns, Kentucky, Doris Morgan of Strunk, Kentucky, Ralph Morgan of Strunk, Kentucky, Clyde Morgan (Pat) of Chatanooga, Tennessee, James H. Morgan of Strunk, Kentucky and Norma R. Smith (Harold) of Somerset, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild; one sister, Geneva Lawson; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

The Funeral Service was 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Pine Knot Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Kilby and Rev. Lansford Lay officiating. She was laid to rest in the Chitwood Cemetery in Pine Knot, Kentucky. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
