Carol (Hamlin) Gilreath, age 72, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Born August 10, 1948, in Jellico, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Leatha (Ball) Hamlin. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Fayrene Stephens.
Surviving family include her husband of 55 years, Stephen Gilreath, a son, Daran Gilreath (wife Janet) of Georgia, two daughters: Dara Gilreath Horton of Tennessee and Rhonda Gilreath Pippin (husband Don) of Georgia, three brothers: Ronald Hamlin (wife Shirley) of Pine Knot, Dale Hamlin of Pine Knot, and Dwayne Hamlin (wife Brenda) of Pine knot, three sisters: Nadean Murphy (husband Dean) of Pine Knot, Sandra Neal (husband Donald) of Pine Knot, and Charlotte King (husband Bill) of Pine Knot, one grandson, Stephen Dale Gilreath, a brother-in-law Ray Merrell Stephens of Pine Knot and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Carol was a homemaker and member of the Hayes Creek Church of God. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She loved to cook and go camping and fishing.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Loudermilk and Bro. Boyd Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until time for services at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the King Meadows Cemetery in Pine Knot on Tuesday at 10:00am.
