CARL RUSSELL MARTIN

Mr. Carl Russell Martin, age 42, of Lula Georgia, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a long hard battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. William Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery, Parkers Lake, Kentucky. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 a€" 2:00 p.m.

Russell grew up in Pine Knot, and moved to Georgia in 1986. Russell has worked as a fire fighter for Hall County Fire Services for the past 20 years. He also owned and operated his own plumbing company, RM Plumbing in Lula.

Russell was the proudest of his two sons, Shane and Daniel. He enjoyed spending time with them while hunting and fishing. He is of the Baptist Faith. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Carl and a brother, Jimmy Martin.

Russell was the beloved husband of Kim (Stephens) Martin, formerly of Revelo, Kentucky, and cherished father of Shane and Daniel Martin, all of Lula, GA. He is survived by his mother Shanda (King) Martin, Pine Knot; sisters, Barbara Thomas, Sharon Byrd, both of Oneida, Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Tony Trammel, Ida and Alan Strunk and Debbie and JR Neal, all of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his beloved firefighter brothers and sisters of Hall County Fire Department.
