Calla Fay Watson, age 87, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Born on June 11, 1934, in Barthel, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Eva Matthew Massengale. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband: Bud Watson and second husband, Estel Pennicuff. She is also preceded in death by brothers: Ray, Clarence, and Arlie Massengale, and sisters: Elizabeth Massengale, Dorothy Massengale Cooper, Emma Massengale Watson, and Edna Massengale Dobbs, and a granddaughter Ashlie Shane.
Surviving family include two sons: Eugene (Pamela) Watson of LaPort, Texas, and Ernie (Darlene) Watson of Slidel, Louisiana, two daughters: Shanna Watson Jones of Smithtown, Kentucky, and Sheila Pennycuff Shane of Pine Knot, a sister: Virginia Massengale Lee, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Fay was retired from the McCreary County Schools as a bus monitor. She previously worked at H & M Machine Shop and Rock 10 Paper Company in Indiana. She had been a member of the 76ers Bowling League in Somerset and former member of the Happy Red Hatters Club.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Pine Knot Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
