Bruce Allen Stephens

Bruce Allen Stephens, age 63, passed away at his home in Whitley City, Kentucky on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. 

Bruce was born in McCreary County, Kentucky Lois Jennette Wood on December 16, 1959. He was raised by the late Clyde Stephens and the late Georgie Stephens. He lived in McCreary County all his life. He loved fishing and playing sports.  

He is preceded in death by his step parents; brothers, Paul Brooks, Timothy Wood, Larry Wood, Robert Boyatt; and sisters, Willa Jean Brooks, and Shirley Boyatt. 

He is survived by his mother; brothers, Lonnie Wood, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Lenville Carter, of Winfield, Tennessee, Steve Carter, of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Gail Taylor of Oneida, Wanda Myers, of Pine Knot, Vickie Lesh; a niece, Geneva Claxton; and a special friend, Roger Daugherty. 

In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1pm Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Pine Knot Funeral Home. Family and friends may gather after 11am Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to cover the funeral cost.
