Bruce Butler age 74 of Stearns, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 10, 1946 in Stearns, Kentucky to the late Charles Henry Butler and Roxie (Martin) Butler. In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his brothers, Terry Butler, Marty Butler, and Rodney Butler and a sister, Sue Butler.
Surviving family include his wife, Brenda (Cox) Butler whom he married December 29, 1964; a son, Mark Butler and wife, Kimberly, of Richmond, Kentucky; daughters, Vickie Dink Jones and husband, Anthony, of Stearns, and Julie Genoe and husband, Davie, also of Stearns; a brother, Bob Butler of Elkhart, Indiana; and sisters, Janice Garland of Stearns, Shelby West of Whitley City, and Vickie Cash and husband, Mike, of Pine Knot.
Also surviving are Bruce’s grandchildren, Jasmine, Dylan, Haley, Hunter, Matthew & Kellie, Morgan & Sam, Jordan & Chad, Jerica & Trevor, Jaelynn & Billy, Jada & Jonathan, and great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Rylee, Bow, Ellie Mae, and June, that he loved so dearly.
Bruce was a faithful member of the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. He was a man of character who enjoyed spending his time with his family above all things. He took much pride in being involved with his grandchildren, especially front porch swinging with his great-grandbabies. Bruce made his living working construction and enjoyed building things. He also enjoyed playing golf, listening to music of all kinds, working in his gardening, and cruising car shows where he made many, many, friends. Bruce will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley and Bro. Roger Bryant officiating. Burial is to follow in the McCreary Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
