Brenda Kay (Kennedy) Vanover age 68 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home.
She was born November 12, 1953 in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Otis Orville Kennedy and Beatrice (Helton) Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Curtis Ray Ballou; sisters, Carol Proctor, Debra Conrad, and Denise Bowman.
Surviving family include her daughter, Rita Kay Genoe of Monticello; grandchildren, Kenneth Genoe, Maranda Young, Nicholas Edward Stephens, and Dylan Ballou; and a great-grandchild, Marcos Popche.
Also surviving are Brenda’s brothers, John Kennedy (and Alicia), Andy Kennedy (and Vickie), Mike Kennedy (and Janice), and Wayne Kennedy; sisters, Pam Garland, Janice Bell (and David Ball), Sue Jones , Sharon Schoffner, Shelby Davis, Elaine Tucker, Becky Phillips (and Marty), and Rita Garner.
Brenda was of the Baptist faith. In past time, she had worked at the Pine Knot Nursing Home as a housekeeper and later at the OVC factory. Brenda enjoyed Bingo and being with her friends. This was a big thing in her life. At home she enjoyed caring for her family and take care of the elderly. Many joke that Brenda loved to keep everyone in line. She will be sadly missed.
In keeping of her wishes, Brenda will be cremated. The family plans to have a Memorial Gathering at a later date.
