BONNIE JONES

Ms. Bonnie Lay Jones, age 79, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Williamsburg Health and Rehab Center.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 12:00 noon until 1:45p.m.at Pine Knot Funeral Home. A Committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the T. Chitwood Cemetery with Rev. William Kilby officiating.

Ms. Jones was born in Creekmore, McCreary County, Kentucky, on September 16, 1933. She was the daughter of the late George and Clema (Gilreath) Lay. She is also preceded in death by a brother Boyd Lay and a sister Nina Baird.

Surviving family include two sons Jerry Jones (and Christle) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Timothy Jones of Bronston, Kentucky, grandchildren: Jerry, Jason, Amanda, Chloe, Tegan, Colton and Alyssa and nine great grandchildren. There are 2 brothers, Delmer and Etta Lay, Lowell and Lillian Lay and 1 sister, Almereen and Don Tower. There is also a sister in law, Hilda Lay.

Bonnie retired from Avon Products in Springdale, Ohio. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Cincinnati and Eastern Star in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. After moving back home to McCreary County, she worked at Earl Anderson's Grocery and later worked with the original owners of the Ole Country CafAC..
